Our Family & Team
Réina Mohan
Owner | Founder
Réina was born and raised in Oklahoma, an entrepreneur and educator whose career reflects a lifelong commitment to building meaningful relationships and creating something real. She is the CEO and Founder of Mohan Consulting Agency, a boutique healthcare consulting and recruitment firm she established in 2006 after seeing inefficiencies in how larger staffing firms matched top-level healthcare
talent to the right opportunities. Under her leadership, MCA has built lasting partnerships with Oklahoma-based hospital systems as well as multi-state regional networks along the West Coast.
Réina is also a highly accomplished teacher, and has enjoyed spearheading numerous culinary classes at Francis Tuttle Technology Center in Oklahoma City since 2007, bringing the same precision and care to the classroom that defines her work as a founder. She formulates every Mera Sona product herself, drawing on that same hands-on approach in her own kitchen.
Réina lives in Oklahoma City with her husband Kenny, their daughter Leela, and their two Cocker Spaniels, Kokopelli and Anasazi.
Kenny Pitts
Partner
Kenny Pitts is Réina Mohan's husband, partner, and an important part of the family behind Mera Sona. A singer-songwriter, actor, and filmmaker, Kenny earned his Bachelor's in Mass Communications from East Central University and has spent his career telling stories, on stage with his band Kenny Pitts & The Raging Peacemakers, on screen, and behind the camera with his own film company, Outsiders Productions, founded in 2004, whose music series “Play It Loud” has earned four Emmy Awards. That same creative instinct, for storytelling, craft, and doing things his own way, shows up in how he shows up for his family and for Mera Sona. Together, Kenny and Réina have built a life centered around family, including their daughter Leela and beloved Cocker Spaniels, Kokopelli and Anasazi. His steady support and involvement behind the scenes make him an integral part of the Mera Sona story.
Sunita Sitara
The Muse
Sunita Sitara, mother of Mera Sona founder Réina Mohan, was an artist, entrepreneur, and Feng Shui practitioner whose philosophy helped shape the heart of this brand. Born in Nairobi, Kenya, and fluent in four languages by childhood, Sunita carried a lifelong love of color and craft, from hand-painted tiles and pottery to hand-pieced quilts, into everything she touched. She built Starry Starry Arts, her own art education business, and later a thriving Feng Shui consultancy, always finding new ways to turn creativity into a life's work.
Her belief in balance, color, and intention inspired Réina from an early age, including the simple practice of “eating a rainbow” and viewing food as both nourishment and medicine. A lifelong environmentalist, she spent even her final years finding small, sustainable ways to care for the world
around her. Sunita passed away in January 2025, and her colorful, holistic approach to wellness continues to influence Mera Sona's philosophy and its commitment to thoughtfully made, whole-food products.
Dr. Ramesh Mohan
The Healer
Dr. Ramesh Mohan, father of Mera Sona founder Réina Mohan, was a dedicated pediatrician and neonatologist who devoted his career to caring for children, including the smallest and most vulnerable patients. He practiced at Shawnee Medical Center Clinic for 36 years, where he started the area's first Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, caring for infants as small as a pound and a half. In the unit's early days, he slept there many nights himself to keep watch over the babies who needed round-the-clock care. He was proud of his association with the clinic, and especially its Pediatrics department, and he saved countless lives over the course of his service to the community.
His medical background and commitment to compassionate care profoundly shaped Réina's understanding of health, nourishment, and the importance of caring for others. He was a doctor first and foremost, and his influence lives on through Mera Sona's emphasis on real ingredients, thoughtful nutrition, and the belief that wellness should be rooted in both science and love.

The Namesakes
Kokopelli (“Koko”) and Anasazi (“Sazi”) are the Cocker Spaniel half sisters who came home to the Mohan-Pitts family together, and who inspired our flagship pet wellness line, Koko and Sazi's Whole Body Support. Sazi passed away in November, and she is honored permanently in the name of the formula she helped inspire. Koko carries their story forward today. Every product in this line is a small tribute to the family the two of them helped build.
